  1. Next time you head over to Maui check out gocyclingmaui.com. Donnie Arnault who runs the company is a former racer and he runs his tours like a pro team. I rode with them a couple years ago and we did two really awesome rides around different ends of the island. We rode Litespeed Sienna bikes and had a Suburban following us with full support. Each week he does a Haleakala ride. But there’s no shuttle to the top, you earn your descent by climbing the 30+ mile 10,000 foot mountain road. This is the ride for us Freds!

  2. Hey John!

Thanks for the comment. Donnie Arnault’s rides sound awesome. I love the fact that if you want to descend Haleakala, you first have to climb it! I need to do that one some time.

  3. I attend a small Christian university in Texas and I think our campus police would react the same way to a bike labeled as NOT being a pipe bomb… I find the whole thing hilarious. thanks for the story – I’ve already told my all spinclass riders… they loved it.

  4. Hey Dave!

Thanks for the positive comments on Gleukos -I’m glad you like it, it’s good stuff. Just this weekend I happend to be in your area (California) racing the CVC race and it was so cold on Saturday I couldn’t get into my pockets for food and did the whole 75 mile road race on just Gleukos. It got me through, I don’t recommend riding on just Gleukos without eating solid food, but if you get stuck like me, you know you have engery in your bottle to get you home.
