    First off – great show. Keep the Euro racing news coming. On the Haleakala crater ride – you are absolutely right, the downhill ride is a drag. Not much fun for a cyclist. However, the ride up the crater is an epic ride. Bring plenty to eat and drink and settle in for a long effort. Certainly doable for mere mortals. Descending is kind of sketchy because of the wind gusts on the uprotected portions of the mountain near the summit so if you have someone to meet you at the top it’s not a bad idea to catch a ride down.

    Keep the rubber side down.
