Here’s a video to show you what it’s like on a KOM climb in the 2010 Amgen Tour of California. These are the People of the Rock Store.
Here is a video shot by our friend Rex Anderson of the finish at Big Bear of Stage 6 of the 2010 Amgen Tour of California.
Stage 8 of the 2010 Amgen Tour of California was a four-lap circuit around a tough course including the Rock Store climb and Mulholland Highway. I was in the Media car again today, this time being driven by Andy Paulin, former US Olympian, former member of the Coors Light team and winner of several stage races.
Here are some of my photos of the event:
Stage 7 of the 2010 Amgen Tour of California was the first-ever time trial in downtown Los Angeles. Once again, I had the good fortune of driving in the media car with Steve Hegg, gold medal olympian. We followed Jason McCartney around a lap of the course.
Here are the best of my photos of the day. Enjoy!

Last Sunday I arrived in Amsterdam for business and had the great pleasure of spending time with Marc from amsterdamize.com. He met me at my hotel, we rode to a cafe for some coffee and Dutch apple pie, went to Vondelpark, talked about cycling, and just enjoyed the ride.
You can hear Marc on the next episode of The FredCast. In the meantime, here are Marc’s photos from our ride.
I was in Amsterdam last week on business and brought along my Dahon Speed Pro TT. The only times I rode in a gasoline-powered vehicle were my taxi rides to and from the airport. Everywhere else I went (including my daily commutes to and from the RAI convention center) were via bicycle. Hey, when in Amsterdam, do as the Amsterdamers do, right?
Here’s a video of a typical ride in Amsterdam.
Our friend Curt raced on behalf of Team FredCast at this year’s Sea Otter Classic. Things went the way, well, the way they sometimes go for Freds. Way to represent, Curt!
I enjoyed the humor and anger in the flier and certainly can relate to it. I asked if I could post it here on The FredCast site and he agreed.
So . . . have you ever had a bike stolen? What did you do to try to get it back? Was it ever returned? If so, is there a good story to go along with it?
If so, let me know here in the comments, via email or via voice mail and I’ll put your interesting stories on the show.
UPDATE: Turns out that this flier was part of a campaign for a new t-shirt design from Threadless Tees’. When I learned this (thanks to @mdbrown on Twitter), I felt so used. Then I found out that this design resulted from a true story of a missing (towed?) bike. So, I guess I’ll leave it up here because it’s still pretty humorous.
