  • Prologue Results including Phil Ligget’s musings on the time keepers vis-a-vis Jason Donald’s amazing early results.
  • Stage 1 Results including comments about the crowds, Dave Zabriskie’s crash, the horrific crash near the finish, and comments from the post-race press conference.

Law Enforcement Bicycle Association

Have you heard of the Law Enforcement Bicycle Association? LEBA is the association responsible for providing law enforcement cyclists and their instructors with the skills and training necessary to allow them to become the most effective bicycle officers possible.

LEBA was kind enough to send me one of their jerseys (see photos below). Please help support their organization in any way that you can. Visit the LEBA web site for more information. Help support the people who keep us all safe!

A special edition of The FredCast Cycling Podcast. As I prepare for the upcoming expanded coverage of the Tour of California, I bring you a special episode including an interview with a FredCast listener who has literally seen it all on the road, as well as an interview with Emily as she completes her first long distance cycling event. Note: the interview with listener Shaun is a bit graphic so listener discretion is advised.

Floyd and Fred

399Here’s a picture of Floyd Landis and me from last weekend’s Endurance Sports Awards in San Diego. It was an inspirational evening and meeting Floyd was the highlight. He was kind, personable, engaging and funny. Thanks to Competitor Magazine and The Pacific South Coast Chapter of the National MS Society for inviting me. I was honored and privileged to attend.

Thanks to Luis Garcia Photography (724 Anza Way, Chula Vista, CA 91910, 619-890-3210) for the photo!

The FredCast is Giving Away 2 iPods!

No, this is not spam. I really will be giving away two iPod Shuffles (your choice of color) and some other cool cycling stuff. Here’s how to enter to win:

Simply complete The FredCast Listener Survey. At the end of survey, provide me with your name and email address (don’t worry, I will never sell or give away your contact information). At the end of February, I will randomly choose from among the entries and give away the two iPod Shuffles along with other prizes including GelBot water bottles, an iPod remote, and other great stuff.

I’ve created the survey to help me learn more about you, my listeners. It asks about your cycling habits, your bikes, what you love/hate about the show, etc. I will use it to keep improving the show and also to prepare demographic information for potential advertisers.

Be sure to complete your survey no later than midnight (PST) on February 28, 2007. GOOD LUCK! Perhaps YOU will be a winner.

Mac Version of Training Center Now Online

At long last, Garmin has finally posted the Mac version of Training Center on their web site. This is a pretty big download at 61.17MB, but it is well worth it for Mac-friendly Freds. I noted that this is version 2.0.1, whereas the version we got at MacWorld is version 2.0.0. Garming has listed the changes on the web site.

Thanks again to listener Mike for helping out FredCast listeners by providing them with Training Center while Garmin worked to get this on the site.
