  1. As a resident and cyclist in Colorado, I am well aware of Colorado SB148. Although I live east of Denver where we tend to have more cowboy-wannabes than cyclists I was pleased to find out the senate sponsor of the bill is in my district. While I already contacted him about the bill over a month ago, I did contact him again after listening to your podcast. My concern with the less than twelve foot lanes is that this would ruin charity rides. Can you imagine riding 7-10 mph due to a slower rider at the front just not to violate the law? This would effectively kill off the rides. Thankfully Senator Brophy is quite responsive to this and had the following to say over two emails.

“I will fix the bill or it won’t pass because that House amendment has to go.”
“It means a lot to me that I get this right. I am an avid cyclist, racer and touring rider.”

We need to keep the support going for this because this will definitely help a great cycling state be safe for all riders of the road.

    Thanks for a great podcast,
    Rob.

  2. When I heard the details of Lance’s collarbone, it was eerie — I had an almost identical injury last October on my commute! My break was a 6-piece’er, my plate got 8 screws, and I was ordered off the bike for 7 weeks, but then I’m not a pro racer, either. As of today, I am as healed as I will get — ‘arthur’ in the shoulder restricts me more than the collarbone does!
