David,
I just attempted to download the MP3 of show #41. When I clicked “save as”, the file title was for show #40! I went back and looked at the actual show #40, and the file sizes matched. So, I am assuming #40 was copied over and not changed to the new version.
Can you let us know when this is fixed? I look forward to each week’s episode and will be eager to download this one, as well.
Thanks again,
Brad
I agree with Brad, I too look forward to each week’s episode.
Brad, you can download this week’s episode by entering the following address in your browser (I’m using IE 6.x):
http://media.libsyn.com/media/thefredcast/the_FredCast_41.mp3
If you have issues like this week, just enter the correct episode number at the end (right before the extension .mp3).
For example, this week’s episode is #41, just enter 41.mp3 at the end.
Paul
Brad,
I forgot to mention, that you’ll need to have Quicktime Pro installed on you PC, in order to download.
If you do (have Quicktime Pro), and you’ve entered the following link into your browser:
http://media.libsyn.com/media/thefredcast/The_FredCast_41.mp3
Once Quicktime Pro has finished downloading episode (to Quicktime viewer), you can then download the mp3 file to your player/computer. Do this by clicking on the drop down arrow (far right) and selecting Save Source As.
Hope this helps.
Paul
The links on the web site are now fixed. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!
Folks… For those of you loooking on the web for POPUP stickers, you’ll not find them under that name, but if you google for the company name ‘RESPRO’ (they make smog masks) you should find them.
The ‘black’ reflective stickers are very odd! 🙂

Although nominally for fifth graders, the Ride Across California builds self-esteem and courage in sedentary suburban parents as well as our children. After completing the ride for the first time with my then-fifth grader back in 2003, I then rode from Badwater to Whitney Portal in 2004, something I never would have believed myself capable of if not for the RAC. After completing the 2006 RAC with my wife and younger son this year, next Spring Break we are contemplating riding as a family down the coast from the Highway 1-Highway 101 split to San Francisco.

Just wanted to say that I’ve tried Daniel’s solution to the cold weather throat pain and it works like a charm. Took a few rides to get the right temperature balance but once I did, it really does help with the rawness in cold weather.
Combined with Rick’s suggestion of a balaclava (https://thefredcast.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=147), cold weather riding has improved ten fold for me. Now if I could just find some Gore leg warmers that actually fit.
