I listened with high interest to the “Training with Power” interview. I’m disappointed that my take-away message is that a power meter will only (a) provide data for my coach or (b) give me a more accurate calculation of calories burned.
I find it laughable to think that someone might be willing to purchase a power meter for a couple hundred dollars if that person were not already intent on training.
I haven’t seen a reason to hire a coach. I don’t compete in races. I need a more conclusive explanation of the benefits I would expect from a power meter (“better performance” and “more efficient use of training time” … hmm … not very conclusive at this end).
